Industrial madness!

Hearing the name Icon of Coil, a lot of Electro-girlies will sport a weird sort of dreamy look and a flush of red on their faces. The most important reason for this behavior is - next to the catchy and harmonic sounds of the band's music - their rather attractive front man Andy LaPlegua. This guy looks as though he has got no evil at all inside of him...

Wrong! Oh boy... his project Combichrist, which has long since turned his main endeavor, is pure, musical evil. The mix of harsh noise, TBM, provocative lyrics and weird samples sounds like it has come straight out of hell. Andy laughs and comments: "well, the devil really has nothing to do with this music. Combichrist is just my musical vehicle to let out all the nasty things inside of me. I can do whatever I want to do.Combichrist is more electronic than anything else I have ever done, although the sound is very raw." Well... listening to Combichrist's debut, this almost sounds like an understatement.

"The Joy of Gunz", released in 2003, is an infernal noise attack and tracks "The Line to the Dead" or "Intruder Alert" which is in a similar vein to Suicide Commando are high caliber sonic weaponry. The whole thing culminates in "Vater Unser" - a thunderstorm that rips out of your system's speakers with monotonous and relentless power. Quite contrary to the obvious religious references, Andy is not a religious fellow at all: "C'mon, we humnas used to believe that our planet Earth is a flat disc! Hence, why should we believe in a god we know not to exist. Anyone switching on their brains for more than 2 seconds must accept this as a fact. If people are fond of seeking shelter behind empty words and unkept promises, that is their problem, but it is definitely not my cup of tea. Should I be wrong, though, meaning that I would stand face to face with God after death, then he can prepare for quite a litany from me about this shit happening down here", states an angry LaPlegua. The project's name is, thus, not intended as a praise of the Lord. "Each and every person should revert to his or her own strengths and not revert to some deity in hope of help." Regarding the music of Combichrist, Andy solely relies on his own musical expertise.

After the second strike, the ultra-brutal Halloween-inferno "Kiss the Blade", LaPlegua decided to move on to other stylistic wates - stagnation means boredom and boredom and Combichrist have never been friends. Always having been rather fond of the Techno scene, he decided that his Industrial madness would be even more powerful when combined with the dance beats from the club scene. The result of this endeavor was "Sex, Drogen und Industrial" a beat-laden dance floor attack. If there'd be a disco in hell, Combichrist would be delivering its music. Shortly thereafter, LaPlegua launched a double attack - "Everybody Hates You" ... with a Techno-Body-Music inferno on CD1 and horror chillout tracks on CD2 that displayed yet another side of the versatile sound wizard Andy LaPlegua. This shit will fuck you up? You bet, baby!

The double CD „What The F**k Is Wrong With You People“ Combichrist further elaborated on the band's trademark mix of noise and TBM and brought LaPlagua one step closer to total world domination... because since quite a while it is not only the girls standing in the first row at a Combichrist gig... rather, everyone is celebrating this musical madness together.

The next strike followed in 2008, with the "Frost EP: Sent To Destroy." It featured the typical Combichrist mix of aggro and catchiness, yet in a much more aggressive and European-electronic guise. But this infernal EP was only the harbinger of things to come: in February 2009, the long-awaited new Combichrist-album "Today We Are All Demons" will be hitting the shops. The rather aptly titled release features thudding beats and massive bass in a hellishly fun mix of Aggrotech, TBM, European Electro and Industrial. The album is released as a limited first edition double CD sporting an infernal bonus disc exclusively in Europe. There is also a lavish double-LP-edition featuring two extra-heavy colored 12" vinyl discs in a gatefold sleeve and an ultra-limited collector's "Box Of Demons" featuring an exclusive T-shirt, a postcard set, a metal pin and a weatherproof sticker. Andy & Co. will also be taking this album to the stages around the world on an extensive world tour. Fittingly, Andy has also prepared a nifty new release, accompanying the tour. On "Heat EP: All Pain Is Beat", Combichrist are giving bass speakers a through workout with six remixes of their club-hits "All Pain Is Gone" and "Can't Change The Beat" by the likes of VNV Nation, Aesthetic Perfection and Assemblage 23, to name but a few. The EP is being released on May 1st in a special, ultra-limited buzz saw shape CD edition, in a hand-numbered Digipak.

The Combichrist Army is ever growing and it is just a matter of time until they will also get YOU. This is fucking Electro madness and we love it!
